Overview
Ferrovial Construction is looking for Graduate Engineers to assist with, and in some cases be responsible for, day to day activities on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects. The Ferrovial 3-year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of Section/Project Managers and in collaboration with the site team.
Ferrovial Construction is internationally recognized for its capacity to design and build civil engineering and construction projects, mainly in large transportation infrastructure. It has a track record including more than 304 miles of tunnels, 11,930 miles of roads (including 2,485 miles of highways), 2,920 miles of railroad lines (including 434 miles of high-speed rail) and 16,994 miles of road maintenance and repair. It is the UK-based engineering and construction arm of Ferrovial Group, a multinational company operating through divisions in Airports, Highways, Construction and Building. Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate team activities to ensure the project is completed on budget and on time, in line with the agreed construction process.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure compliance with financial parameters.
- Assist in ensuring the project complies with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing the team, advising on resourcing levels, performance management, employee development and motivation.
- Adopt and promote Ferrovial Construction UK Vision and Values. Take ownership for the work assigned to you.
- Adhere to safe working practices on site and ensure all staff comply with requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral English language.
- Degree or master’s in engineering (all disciplines considered).
- Motivated to learn and add value to the team, the role and the Graduate programme.
- Analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving; proactive and results-focused.
- Proven team player able to work effectively with others and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the industry; familiarity with Microsoft packages.
- Right to work in the UK for the start and duration of the programme.
Qualificatons & Skills
- Interpersonal: Highly motivated; logical thinker; resilient; flexible; strong communication; works independently with minimal supervision.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation; engineering experience; CSCS Card.
- Essential: Right to work in the UK by the start and throughout the graduate programme.
