We have an exciting opportunity for an SRE Technical Lead/Manager to join a major UK critical infrastructure programme delivering large-scale cloud-native transformation at enterprise scale. In this role, you’ll take ownership of SRE strategy and platform reliability across complex Kubernetes and OpenShift environments, helping shape engineering standards, operational maturity, and long-term platform stability.
You’ll work within a modern cloud-native environment leveraging Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, service mesh, observability tooling, and automation-first engineering practices. This is a highly influential role where you’ll lead and mentor high-performing SRE teams while remaining technically close to engineering delivery. You’ll play a key role in shaping reliability engineering across a visible, multi-vendor environment where resilience and uptime genuinely matter.
Skills Required
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift (non-negotiable)
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms
- Strong Infrastructure as Code and GitOps experience
- Proven experience with CI/CD automation and reliability-focused engineering
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor across multi-vendor delivery environments
- Proven track record operating as a technical authority
Desirable
- Familiarity with Red Hat ACM/ACS, Submariner networking, and enterprise databases
- Experience working in large-scale, client-embedded environments
