F5 are delighted to be partnering with one of the biggest Technology Consultancies in the UK, an award-winning business that works with major organisations globally. They are seeking multiple Senior Scala Developers to join a long-standing Public Sector customer of theirs, working on some of the biggest Government projects in the country.
You will develop and maintain high-quality Scala microservices managing scalable, reliable deployments with SBT, CI/CD, and containerisation. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and ensure strong operational performance. You can be based anywhere in the UK, provided you are comfortable going into the office at least once a month. The office that you visit will differ based on project demand, however typical sites include London, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, South Wales, and Birmingham.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality Scala microservices with scalable, reliable deployments using SBT, CI/CD, and containerisation.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, mentor junior engineers, and ensure strong operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Scala and functional programming.
- Skilled in designing/consuming REST APIs and JSON validation/serialisation (Play JSON, Circe).
- Proficient with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Experience writing unit/integration tests using ScalaTest, Specs2, Mockito (TDD/BDD).
- Familiar with SBT for build automation and Git branching workflows.
- Good understanding of HTTP, web security best practices, and performance.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
