About the Role: We are looking for an organised, hands-on Desktop Support Engineer to join a dedicated on-site team supporting a secure government environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality IT support across Install, Move, Add and Change (IMAC) activities, ensuring users have the right equipment, configured correctly, and ready to perform. This role suits either an experienced IT Support Engineer or a career-changer with solid technical aptitude looking to grow within a structured, professional environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Device Management: Build, configure, and rebuild user devices in line with service requirements.
  • Inventory & Stock Control: Maintain accurate hardware records and follow stock control processes, including allocation and disposal.
  • Service Coordination: Manage IMAC activities from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery against SLAs.
  • Customer Experience: Provide a friendly, professional service at all times, supporting users on-site and ensuring minimal disruption.

What You Will Bring:

  • Experience in IT support or a strong technical foundation with a willingness to learn.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 7-10 and common software installation processes.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow).
  • Basic understanding of networking and server environments.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • A positive, adaptable mindset with a team-first approach.
