Regulatory Manager - Full-time or Part-time | Flexible Working

F2 Chemicals is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Regulatory Manager to join our team near Preston. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in chemical regulatory affairs, product compliance and product stewardship to play a key role in supporting our business, our customers and our future growth.

Operating in an increasingly complex regulatory environment, we need someone who can help us navigate evolving legislation, ensure our products meet the requirements of the markets in which we operate, and turn regulatory challenges into practical commercial solutions.

We recognise that no one person will necessarily have expertise in every area of chemical regulation. We are therefore looking for someone with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, experience in a relevant industry and the enthusiasm to develop their knowledge across a broad and evolving range of regulations.

This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced regulatory professional looking for their next challenge, or someone earlier in their career who is ready to take the next step and broaden their responsibilities.

The Role

As Regulatory Manager, you will take ownership of regulatory compliance across our products, raw materials and target markets. Working closely with colleagues across the business, particularly our Commercial team, you will help ensure that regulatory requirements are understood, managed and incorporated into our business strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Regulatory compliance: Interpret relevant UK, EU and international chemical regulations, translating complex requirements into clear, practical actions for the business.
  • REACH compliance: Support compliance with UK REACH, EU REACH and other international chemical registration requirements, including those in South Korea, China and other relevant markets. This will cover both raw materials and finished products.
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Ensure Safety Data Sheets and associated product documentation are accurate, up to date and compliant with applicable requirements.
  • Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP): Manage relevant classification and labelling requirements, ensuring products meet applicable regulatory standards.
  • Emerging and evolving legislation: Monitor and assess developments relating to PFAS, persistent organic pollutants (POPs), substances of very high concern (SVHCs), F-gas requirements and other relevant legislation, identifying potential impacts on our products and operations.
  • International market access: Help ensure our products are appropriately registered, notified and documented to enable sales in the markets in which we operate. Provide guidance on other relevant requirements, including TSCA in the United States.
  • Commercial support and customer engagement: Work closely with our Commercial team to respond to customer regulatory enquiries, provide supporting documentation and help resolve compliance-related challenges.
  • Product stewardship: Contribute to the responsible management of our products throughout their lifecycle, considering regulatory obligations and emerging customer and market expectations.
  • Regulatory strategy: Incorporate regulatory considerations into commercial planning, new product development and market expansion, helping the business anticipate challenges and identify opportunities.
  • Projects and continuous improvement: Lead or support regulatory projects, manage deadlines and stakeholders, and develop processes that strengthen compliance across the business.
  • Audits and external engagement: Support regulatory audits, inspections, certification activities and liaison with relevant external organisations, where required.

Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to support export control formalities and customs-related requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines sound regulatory knowledge with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You will be comfortable working through complex legislation, assessing what it means for the business and communicating requirements clearly to colleagues and customers.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in regulatory affairs, chemical compliance, product stewardship or a related discipline, preferably within the chemicals or wider manufacturing industry.
  • A working knowledge of UK and EU chemical regulatory frameworks, particularly REACH, CLP and Safety Data Sheets.
  • An understanding of international chemical regulations and the challenges associated with supplying products into different markets.
  • The ability to interpret regulatory developments and translate them into clear, commercially relevant actions.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work collaboratively with commercial and technical colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and keeping up to date with changing legislation.

Knowledge of F-gas requirements, PFAS, POPs, SVHCs, TSCA, international registration requirements or product stewardship would be advantageous. Experience with export controls and customs procedures would also be beneficial, although neither is essential.

We do not expect you to tick every box.

Why Join F2 Chemicals?

This is an opportunity to take on a varied role with genuine influence over how a business manages regulatory compliance and accesses international markets.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Make a tangible contribution to business growth and international market access.
  • Work closely with colleagues across commercial and technical functions.
  • Take ownership of regulatory challenges and help shape practical business solutions.
  • Develop your expertise across a broad range of international regulations.
  • Build your role and responsibilities as the business and regulatory landscape evolve.

We recognise that the best candidate may not be looking for a traditional full-time management role. We are open to flexible working arrangements, including part-time hours and reduced working weeks, and are happy to discuss how the role could fit around individual circumstances, including family commitments.

We are also open to candidates who are looking to progress their careers and take on greater responsibility, rather than someone who has already reached the most senior level in regulatory affairs.
