We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Track Systems Technician to join our Track Systems Team. You will be responsible for the installation, deployment and management of the F1 timing data acquisition and communications system at F1 race locations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation of timing loops, beacons and track temperature sensors in the surface of the track. Involving manual work including digging, soldering and operation of machinery & tools
- Installation, testing and termination of co-axial and multi core twisted pair data cables used for loop and decoder data communications
- Fault finding on basic IT networks and cable systems
- Reading and working to F1 Circuit drawings for correct equipment set up for a race
- Systems installation planning and liaising with other departments and external parties
- Monitor and verify incoming and outgoing data using F1 software
About You:
- HND Electrical or Electronic qualification or equivalent
- Fault finding on electrical/electronic wiring systems
- Reading, understanding and working to wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Technical report writing skills
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP Systems
- Ability to perform under pressure in a time critical live broadcast environment
- Ability to travel on a regular basis for extended periods (1 to 3 weeks)
- Strong team working ability – capable of working outdoors in both hot and cold weather
Desirable:
- Fault finding of CAN based communication systems
- Basic knowledge of RF communication systems
- Previous experience working in network IT
