Formula 1 is the fastest growing sport in the world, attracting millions of new fans every year. As we continue our growth globally, we are looking for a Media Executive and Analyst to support the communications team, and lead on media analysis, monitoring and reporting. The role will be London based, with some travel possibly required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead on media monitoring, measurement and reporting for key stakeholders around the business, F1’s parent company, Liberty Media, and external partners.
  • Support with the compiling of key facts/stats for the communications department (working in collaboration with the Formula 1 insights team).
  • Support message development with the senior communications team members by applying media coverage and messaging analysis as a guide.
  • Support the Communications team with announcements, administration, communications materials and events.
  • Work with our PR agency to identify new global media opportunities based on analysis, develop an agreed framework to best measure results and a reporting structure that benefits the business.
  • Support the team with activity taking place at the races. Provide analysis of local media and recommendations for outlets to consider working with.
  • Work with the internal comms manager to showcase how activity such as new partnerships, race promotion activity, and media rights announcements have benefited the business.
  • Support the senior communications team with their day-to-day requirements.
  • Work with colleagues to draft the daily media coverage report.
  • Draft and manage correspondence with internal stakeholders and external media.
  • Proactively monitor the media for stories and issues.
  • Actively monitor how other brands are engaging with media and share opportunities to learn from their activity.
  • Draft briefing notes, biographies, and other supporting materials for F1 executives.
  • Support the F1 Communications and Corporate Relations teams as required.
  • Work with the media on specific projects and on story rebuttals.

About You

  • Experience working in an agency or within an in-house public affairs or corporate relations team.
  • A proven track record of media monitoring and measurement, experience of developing messaging based on media analysis, and report writing.
  • Experience in analysing and measuring media coverage and creating reports.
  • Strong understanding of the media and the news agenda.
  • Impeccable writing, editing, proofreading, and reporting skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills; you also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain measurement and media analytics to them.
  • Must know how to use major social media channels (X, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • A proactive team-player that gets involved, offers to pick up work and supports your colleagues.
  • Flexible and prepared to work outside office hours, both during a normal working week and at races.
