We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established breakdown recovery and commercial vehicle specialist based in Grays, Essex. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Commercial Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join their busy team.

This is a varied workshop and mobile role involving repairs, diagnostics, roadside breakdowns, and customer site work across commercial vehicles, lorries, and mobile cranes.

The Role
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Attend roadside breakdowns and customer callouts
  • Work both in the workshop and out on the road
  • Deliver excellent customer service in challenging situations
Requirements
  • HGV Class 2 (LGVC) licence minimum
  • Digi Tacho and full Driver CPC
  • Commercial vehicle mechanic or HGV fitter experience
  • Strong fault-finding skills and a hands-on approach
  • Maximum 6 licence points for minor endorsements only
  • Recovery experience is advantageous but not essential. Ex-REME and ex-Military candidates are encouraged to apply.
Whats On Offer
  • £46,800 basic salary
  • Overtime
  • £25 callout bonus per job
  • Door-to-door pay on on-call work
  • HGV Class 1 training provided for the right candidate

Hours: Monday to Friday with start times between 06:00 - 08:00. 45 hours per week plus overtime and on-call rota. Immediate interviews and starts available. DBS and referencing checks may apply.
