Introduction: We are an agency recruiting for a local Breakdown & Recovery Operator who specialise in both light and heavy recovery services. They are looking to recruit a Qualified Heavy Recovery Driver who has Service Van / Commercial Fitting skills and holds current ADR certification. The successful applicant will not only be highly skilled and experienced but also dedicated to the job. Job Title: Qualified Heavy Recovery Driver with Service Van / Commercial Fitting and ADR Available Locations: Depot based from Upminster, Essex Description: Required to undertake all aspects of roadside and recovery work including attending broken-down commercial vehicles; repair / service wherever possible and/or load onto the Recovery Truck and take to designated drop-off point i.e. workshop or company depot. In between roadside work the successful applicant will assist in the company's workshop helping maintain the company's own fleet. Licence: Full, UK, HGV Class 1 (LGVC+E) licence with a maximum of 6 points on licence for minor endorsements and no outstanding DD, DR or CD penalties. Qualifications: * HGV Technician / Commercial Fitter * ADR * Experience / IVR Heavy Recovery Driver training Will consider applications from military trained (REME) and time-served candidates. Digi-Tacho: Required on starting Driver's CPC: Full DCPC required Experience: Experience of Heavy Breakdown & Recovery is essential. Equipment & Tools: The company will provide transport to attend jobs i.e. service van or recovery truck. The successful candidates must provide their own tools. Training: Our client offers Induction training which includes safe use of the vehicle provided, Health & Safety and paperwork & procedures. People Skills: All applicants must have superb customer care skills and be able to communicate effectively with the general public in stressful and difficult situations. Applicants must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. A good level of fitness is required as the work can be very heavy. Shift Pattern & Hours: To be discussed at the interview stage. Will require flexible attitude to work. Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 (depending upon skills and experience) Note: this is a self-employed role. The company can assist with setting up self-employed status, if required. Job Status: Permanent with immediate interviews and starts. Vetting: Our client will undertake vetting including referencing for up to 5 years. They will also require an NPPV police check.
