Job Description
A fantastic opportunity is available for an HGV2 Recovery Driver to join this well-established local automotive, breakdown and recovery business. Based from the depot in Bedford, the successful HGV2 Recovery Driver will work a flexible shift pattern including days, nights and weekends. Recovery driving can be very rewarding and the salary competitive based upon the hours you are prepared to work and your flexibility.
No previous experience is required as the company will train in all aspects of the job role.
The successful Recovery Driver will join this hardworking and dedicating team customers who have broken down by the roadside.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Minor Roadside Repairs (Jump starts, Wheel Changes Etc.)
- Vehicle Breakdown Recovery
- Traffic Collision Recovery
- Compound Recovery (on behalf of Police)
- Using the Vehicle Recovery App to complete accurate data on vehicle diagnosis
- You will be required to assist customers in their time of need and will be trained to load vehicles onto the recovery truck and transport to a designated drop off point.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum HGV2 licence with no more than 3 points on the licence for minor endorsements and no outstanding DD, DR or CD penalty points
- Digi Tacho and full current DCPC
- Confident and personable when talking to customers
- A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to work as a team in all situations and in all weather conditions
- Empathetic and appreciative of the stressful situation that customers can find themselves in
Training
The company would prefer experienced Recovery drivers; however they will offer full training if required.
Hours & Shift Pattern
Nights: 19:00-07:00
Working 10 days from 14 on a fortnightly pattern. All applicants must be willing to work every other weekend as part of their roster.
Overtime available.

Alternative Shift Patterns
The company is flexible with shifts and may consider requests for alternative patterns including part-time working and permanent days.
Vetting & Background Check
Due to the nature of the position all applicants will be required to undertake enhanced police vetting and therefore all employment offers shall be subject to undertaking and passing this procedure.
Our client will undertake vetting including referencing up to 5 years. They will also require an enhanced Police Records check.
