Buyer / Materials controller

We are looking for an individualwho is well organized, with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task is essential. Your primary role will be Purchasing activities: managing, controlling, goods sourcing and materials inventory ensuring efficient stock levels and smooth operations. Key Accountabilities Run MRP from up-dated sales forecast. Read MRP report and establish items to be orders and required delivery dates. Produce works orders – Machines and Components. Produce purchase orders Components. Progress purchase orders and works orders. Chase late purchase orders. Ensure spare parts safety stocks are monitored and adjusted against production. Oversee the booking in parts received from suppliers. Returns notes checked and chased up against MRP requirements. ECN driven BOM changes on SAGE. Monthly reporting of stock turns. Build and maintain a strong network of suppliers to secure best pricing and terms. Qualifications, Experience & Skills Proven record of the principles of materials and demand management Proven record of raw materials and packaging purchase Ideally CIPS qualified/part qualified Knowledge of End-to-End supply chain activities Proficient in Office systems/Numeracy skills to interpret data Working knowledge SAGE or equivalent Knowledge of components used in construction machinery Experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of Engineering materials and manufacturing techniques Performance measurement Liaise with suppliers, ensuring no shortage of parts for production machine builds to a pre-determined build schedule. To be proficient in the use of SAGE products. To be proficient in the use of office software programs. Quality and efficiency of work carried out. Quality of reporting and parts flow co-ordination. Accuracy and completeness of all documentation. Accuracy of stock. Management and prioritization of workload Communications. To report to the other departments on the progress of all assigned tasks.
