Role Purpose
As our Business Development Lead, you'll be a driven, scientifically‑minded commercial professional helping to grow Mystra’s penetration into the pharma and biotech market. You'll own your pipeline, build real relationships with client R&D and data teams, and play a hands‑on role in one of the most exciting growth areas in life sciences. A Day in the Life
- New Business Development: You'll identify, qualify, develop and close opportunities across pharma and biotech – connecting with potential clients virtually and at conferences and events, building pipeline, and leading sales conversations that connect Mystra's capabilities to real research challenges.
- Client Relationships: You'll develop an understanding of your clients' R&D and data priorities, and build trusted relationships with scientific and commercial stakeholders and keep them engaged throughout the sales process and beyond.
- Market Awareness: You'll stay curious about what's happening across the life sciences landscape, bringing insights from client conversations back to the team and helping evolve our positioning and messaging.
- Sales Operations: You'll keep your pipeline accurate and up to date in our CRM, contributing to forecasting and reporting that helps the wider team plan effectively.
- Internal Collaboration: You'll work closely with Consulting, Product, Science and Marketing colleagues – sharing what you're hearing in the market and helping ensure our sales approach reflects genuine customer need.
Who You Are
- You have experience in SaaS or enterprise technology sales into pharma or biotech – you understand how these organisations buy and what matters to them.
- You've engaged with research or R&D teams inside pharma or biotech companies and know how to build credibility in a scientific environment.
- You have an interest in genetics or genomics – whether from your academic background or professional experience – and you're confident talking about what advanced genetic data can do.
- You communicate clearly and enthusiastically when you're presenting to a mixed scientific and commercial audience.
- You're proactive, organised and genuinely excited by the prospect of building something – this is a role where your energy and initiative will make a real difference.
- A degree in life sciences, business or a related field is expected.
