Global Program Manager (GPM) at Roche/Genentech – a core member of molecule/disease area teams responsible for driving drug or disease area development programs to maximize efficiency, portfolio value, and patient benefit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic program management to project teams, framing and assessing options, identifying inflection points and critical factors for project delivery and decision‑making.
- Guide molecule teams in close collaboration with the team leader, building and maintaining highly functioning project teams through observation of dynamics, trust‑building, issue resolution, and encouraging open dialogue.
- Keep teams on track to deliver short‑, mid‑ and long‑term activities, driving key program/project meetings, workshops, team communication and documentation.
- Lead and contribute to functional or company‑wide initiative workstreams where appropriate.
- Contribute to portfolio management by reporting and proactively maintaining key project information to support portfolio overview and decisions.
- Maintain program and project management guidelines, standards and tools as required.
- Drive implementation and execution of program strategy, identifying and mitigating program risks.
- Leverage molecule development and market expertise to accelerate high‑quality decisions, lead effective ways of working and catalyze change.
- Foster a teaching, coaching and learning culture, embodying OneRoche leadership principles such as Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach.
- Support integrated evidence planning, ensuring broad and sustainable patient access by defining necessary evidence for regulatory, access and clinical practice across a product’s life‑cycle.
Key Qualifications
- Proven track record of driving comprehensive program strategies in drug development, with solid experience in the development lifecycle and potentially commercial activities.
- Experience using project management, change management, business management or related tools, methodologies and approaches to deliver strategy and outcomes efficiently.
- Systems thinker capable of understanding the landscape and interconnectedness of activities within projects and the wider business.
- Effective communicator with transparent, strategic sharing of information and influence across stakeholders.
- Results‑oriented in ambiguous environments, ensuring clarity of objectives and an easily understood plan or roadmap.
- Strong influencing, communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions without explicit authority.
- Comfortable with working out loud, iteration, experimentation and an active listening mindset.

Working Conditions
Location: Welwyn, United Kingdom – onsite. Hybrid work structure with a fixed number of onsite days per week. Relocation benefits are not available.
