Position Overview
Position within the Near Patient Care R&D Development Network, the team of system architects supports the development of diagnostic and medical devices. We ensure that the system of hardware, software, and sensors works together seamlessly to form a robust solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold technical responsibility in key systems engineering disciplines for the development of systems or complex system components.
- Account for systems engineering deliverables such as requirements, architecture, risks, concepts, and configuration management.
- Contribute to product development projects, including system integration.
- Create development documentation and design artifacts according to good design practices and regulatory-relevant requirements.
- Drive alignment between instrument and assay development and their integration.
- Work closely with other functions such as HW and SW Engineering, Operations, or Customer Support in cross‑functional activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BSc/MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in medical device development (a focus on hardware is a plus) and ideally worked in a regulated environment (e.g., IVDR).
- Clear, structured, and proactive working style that promotes collaboration in interdisciplinary teams.
- Analytical thinking and the ability to see both the big picture and details.
- Practical experience in system integration, working with various technology domains.
- Confident navigation within complex systems and distributed organizations, proactively identifying system‑level issues and driving them to resolution.
- Fluent in English; additional knowledge of German considered a plus.
