The Global Fleet Program team is a central pillar of our manufacturing strategy, responsible for establishing and maintaining a network of standardized systems across the Roche/Genentech production network. By championing the "design one, build many" philosophy, we enable rapid tech transfer and maximum cross-site equivalency, ensuring technical product health and organizational performance at a global scale.
The Opportunity
- Providing strategic and operational oversight for the implementation of the fleet concept across specific manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Acting as the single point of accountability for all Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) fleet equipment standards deployed across multiple global sites.
- Establishing and maintaining a robust governance structure to manage technical changes and ensure continuous improvement throughout the equipment lifecycle.
- Holding ultimate accountability for cross-site equivalency by approving comparative analyses of GMP-critical and process-critical system aspects.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for health authority interactions and internal escalations regarding fleet strategy and system alignment.
- Managing the master inventory and status of all fleet equipment, ensuring data accuracy and visibility across the network.
- Owning global lifecycle deliverables, including Master Fleet Validation Plans, SOPs, and User Requirements Specifications (URS).
- Leading the impact analysis for changes to ensure consistent implementation across all affected systems while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Deciding on the incorporation of new technical requirements into fleet systems and determining deployment timelines across the global network.
Who you are
You are a strategic leader and a champion of standardization with the ability to drive alignment across diverse functional groups and geographical locations. Your excellent communication skills allow you to navigate complex organizational structures and act as a decisive point of accountability for critical manufacturing systems. You possess a high degree of technical integrity, ensuring that complex changes are managed with precision and that global equivalency is never compromised in a highly regulated environment.
Further you possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Bioengineering), Life Sciences, or a related technical field; a PhD is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a focus on multi-site operations and system standardization.
- Deep expertise in managing complex equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, from initial procurement to decommissioning.
- Strong understanding of GMP, Quality Systems (PQS), and global regulatory requirements such as ICH Q10 and ICH Q12.
- Proven track record in leading change management processes and performing cross-site impact assessments in a GMP environment.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making and drive results across engineering, quality, and site leadership teams.
