The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to lead and continually improve our quality function. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, overseeing inspection processes, and driving continuous improvement across the company. You will work closely with the production team, support audits, and ensure our quality systems remain robust, effective, and aligned with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and develop the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Carry out and oversee first‑off inspections, in‑process inspections, and final view inspections
  • Produce and review FAI (First Article Inspection) reports
  • Ensure components meet required tolerances and customer specifications
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits
  • Investigate non‑conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and records
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality‑related matters
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Promote a strong culture of quality throughout the team

About You

  • Experience in a quality role within precision engineering or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and auditing practices
  • Hands‑on experience with inspection processes and measurement equipment
  • Calibration experience is a bonus
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident communicator able to work with both customers and internal teams
  • Organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of the quality function
  • Experience with QMS systems and documentation
