Company F. Bamford (Engineering) Ltd, known in the industry as Bamford Doors, specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of custom made, aluminium communal security doors and screens. Over the past couple of years, the business has expanded in the security door industry. Due to internal promotions, we are looking to recruit production operatives to operate at our head office manufacturing site.
Location: Stockport Head Office, Located on Whitehill Industrial Estate, SK4 1NT
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly of frames/doors as part of the assembly teams, installation of glazing, panels components, locks, handles; may include operation of saws, CNC machine.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assisting in ensuring smooth operation of all aspects of production operations.
- Managing restocking of consumables in work areas.
- Managing levels of waste materials in production areas on a daily basis and ensuring correct disposal, including assisting with cleaning machinery and production areas.
- Assisting with management of stock items and built units, including movement of items around facility using manual handling devices, forklift trucks and cranes.
- Assisting with pre-shipment inspection including preparing doors for inspection.
Reporting: Role reports to the Production Management Team

Desirable Skills:
- Previous engineering, joinery/carpentry, fabrication, UPVC window manufacture.
- Previous forklift truck and overhead gantry crane experience including slinging.
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the business.
- Good organisational skills.
- Clean driving license.
- IT skills (to be able to use company business system with initial training).

Schedule & Pay:
- Full time role 40 hours per week plus overtime 07.00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00- 13:00 Friday.
- Potential overtime on a daily basis and Saturdays, overtime paid at enhanced rate.
- Rate of pay £12.21 – 13.85 (over 21 years), £10.00 - £13.85 (under 21 years) per hour depending on experience (pay increase on successful completion of various probationary points).
Holidays: 20 days per annum plus bank holidays, plus additional days dependent on Christmas shut down.
Pension scheme: auto enrolment.
Annual pay reviews: SSP subject to a 3-month probationary period.
