We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician within our Engineering Department.

Role Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a new role within the Engineering department, reporting to the Assistant Engineering Manager. The purpose of the role is to support the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and presentation of our site, ensuring that manufacturing areas, commercial offices, welfare facilities and general site infrastructure are maintained to a safe, clean, reliable and professional standard. This is a hands-on role that would suit a technical minded person that enjoys a wide variety of tasks as well as problem solving and takes pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for carrying out a range of facilities and maintenance duties including but not limited to:
  • Routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across site
  • Minor plumbing installs and repairs
  • Routine painting, decorating and ongoing touch ups
  • Basic joinery tasks, door repairs and replacing door furniture
  • Assemble/relocate office furniture
  • Installing site wide signage
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers
  • Assist with engineering activities when required
  • Ensure parts are readily available and organised accordingly

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in the use of hand and power tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive and flexible approach
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload, respond to urgent requests and complete tasks to agreed standards
  • Basic computer literacy for using maintenance systems, email and spreadsheets
  • Health and safety conscious
