THE ROLE

JOB TITLE

General Manager – (Caribbean)

LOCATION

London, UK (3 days per week in the office)

TYPE OF CONTRACT

Permanent, Full-Time

SALARY RANGE

We are seeking a highly commercial and entrepreneurial General Manager (GM) to lead a cluster of country markets.

The GM will have full P&L responsibility, accountable for driving growth in transactions, deepening local market penetration, optimising gross profit, and unlocking new market opportunities within their region.

This role requires a strategic yet hands‑on leader, comfortable managing diverse partnerships, building and executing growth strategies, and collaborating cross‑functionally with central teams.

  • WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Key Objectives
  • Transaction Growth and gross profit growth — the two numbers this role is judged on.
  • On-the-ground (OTG) activation as the primary growth lever — street‑level and community activation that gets new users transacting, not just aware.
  • Successfully launch and scale new markets within the cluster.

Key Responsibilities

  • OTG Activation
  • Runs ground activation personally — designs the local activation plan, gets hands‑on with execution (crews, partners, companies, on-the-ground events), and fixes what isn't working in real time rather than waiting for a quarterly review.
  • Builds distribution beyond the obvious — retail, digital, and community partnerships that get Ding closer to where diaspora customers already are.
  • P&L and Market Expansion
  • Identify and launch new country markets in the cluster, overseeing go-to-market execution and early growth acceleration.
  • Own the P&L for the cluster of countries, delivering revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Monitor performance through KPIs, market insights, and competitor intelligence, making data‑driven decisions.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability across local teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Growth Strategy & Execution
  • Design and implement pricing, discounting, and promotional strategies, including structured testing to optimise conversion and margin.
  • Partner with Marketing teams to plan and optimise paid search campaigns, ensuring ROI and alignment with local customer insights.
  • Commercial & Partnerships
  • Build and manage partnerships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), driving supply, promotional strategy, and joint business planning.
  • Develop and scale distribution partnerships across retail and digital channels, including sourcing and vouchering products.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and secure competitive advantage in the market.
  • WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
  • Proven track record in general and /or country market management, commercial leadership, or regional P&L ownership.
  • A track record of building or running something with limited resources and making it work.
  • Direct, specific evidence of running ground‑level marketing or activation that moved a real number — not just overseeing an agency that did.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: hands‑on, solution oriented, thrives in fast‑paced, growth‑driven environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Product, Pricing, Supply).
  • Experience owning the commercial strategy for the Caribbean.
  • Direct evidence of negotiating budget or co‑funding out of a partner.
  • Analytical and data‑driven, with expertise in pricing strategy, promotions, and marketing optimisation.
  • Experience in telecoms, digital products, consumer services, or adjacent industries preferred.
  • YOU WILL LOVE WORKING AT DING IF
  • You want your work to mean something. We move real money for real people — families sending support across borders and communities staying connected.
  • You thrive with ownership, not instruction. At Ding, you’ll shape the work, not just deliver it.
  • You’re energised by complexity and excited by international growth at scale.
  • You enjoy combining creativity, performance marketing and data‑driven decision making.
  • You want to work with people who are collaborative, direct and genuinely supportive.
  • You’re excited by the intersection of paid media, automation and AI‑powered workflows.
  • LIFE AT DING

We’re building something that genuinely matters and we want the environment to reflect that.

You’ll get real ownership from day one, work with a diverse global team across 25+ nationalities, and be part of a culture that is high‑performance without being high‑ego.

Beyond the work itself, we’ve designed our benefits around flexibility, longevity and genuine quality of life:

  • YOLO Days & Dingversary Leave
  • Hybrid working — Dublin HQ + WFH
  • Work Abroad Programme (30 days/year)
  • Pension & private healthcare
  • Wellness programme & regular events
  • Learning & development support
  • A mission you can be proud of
  • A genuinely global team & culture
