We are looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our manufacturing business based in York.

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will provide a comprehensive generalist HR service, supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Co-ordinator looking to progress into an HR Advisor role.

You'll have gained some exposure to the HR Advisor responsibilities and be keen to build on your employee relations experience, develop your knowledge of employment law, and grow your confidence in providing practical HR advice and support to managers.

You'll be supported to develop your skills while taking on increasing responsibility across a wide range of HR activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters.
  • Support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and capability issues.
  • Assist managers with recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, interviewing, onboarding, and induction.
  • Coordinate and support learning and development initiatives.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied and remain compliant with current employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to deliver the HR strategy and contribute to wider business objectives.

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant, Coordinator or Advisor role.
  • A good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR systems (Dayforce advantageous).
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or production environment would be advantageous.
  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.

This is a permanent role based on the outskirts of York offering £35,000 - £40,000 per annum.
