Interim Payroll, Systems & MI Lead
Greater Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)
6-month contract
Up to £50,000 per annum
I’m currently supporting a client in Salford who is looking for an experienced Payroll, Systems & MI Lead to join on an interim basis during a period of change. This role will focus on reviewing an outsourced payroll model, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, and optimising People systems and reporting. You’ll work closely with HR, Finance, IT, and a third-party payroll provider to improve processes, data accuracy, and MI.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing the outsourced payroll process, identifying risks and compliance gaps
- Ensuring payroll aligns with UK legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, holiday pay, NMW/NLW)
- Leading the setup, clean-up, and optimisation of HR, recruitment, and learning systems
- Improving data accuracy, governance, and MI reporting
- Working closely with HR, Finance, IT, and the payroll provider to embed improvements
Experience required:
- Strong UK payroll and compliance background
- Proven experience improving HR/payroll systems
- Confident producing and interpreting People MI
- Comfortable working with third-party payroll providers
- Able to hit the ground running in an interim role
