Full-Time, 12-month fixed-term contract
£40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Leeds (Hybrid – approx. 2 days a week in the office + some travel)

We’re looking for an experienced Learning & Development Consultant to play a pivotal role in enhancing the learning experience across a large, multi-functional business. This role will lead the design and delivery of a Career Pathways Strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders, people managers and subject matter experts to create clear, engaging progression routes that support performance, retention, talent development and succession planning. Alongside this, you’ll support broader L&D initiatives including induction, onboarding and learning journeys, acting as a trusted expert and point of escalation for complex learning queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Career Pathways programme, from design through to implementation
- Develop interactive career frameworks outlining competencies, critical skills, progression routes and timelines
- Create tools to support individual gap analysis and manager capability
- Review and align training and skills matrices to support career development
- Review existing induction and onboarding approaches and design improved, engaging experiences
- Create clear execution plans to support operational managers
- Provide one-to-one coaching to people managers where required
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop interactive onboarding content in a variety of formats
- Provide accurate, high-quality progress updates and data to stakeholders
- Build strong relationships at all levels, including senior leadership and operational teams
- Work closely with subject matter experts to deliver agreed learning outputs
About You:
- Proven experience designing and delivering learning programmes
- Experience managing complex learning or people-related projects
- Strong working knowledge of Learning or Competency Management Systems
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication, organisation and project management skills
- Strong IT capability and confidence using digital tools to enhance learning
- Coaching experience would be advantageous
- CIPD Level 3 in Learning & Development Practice (or equivalent teaching/learning qualification)
