We are looking for an internal salesperson within our Reading branch. This position ideally requires candidates with experience within the wholesale industry – such as Electrical Wholesalers, Plumbing Merchants, Hardware Shops or Builders Merchants. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work within a small team in a fast‑paced office environment.

Key duties include:

  • Dealing with customer enquiries and orders
  • Supplier liaison
  • Stock control
  • Proactive sales activities

This position is ideally suited to candidates with experience within the Electrical Wholesale industry; however, individuals who are looking for progression from their current roles will also be considered.

Duties:

  • Processing quotations & sales orders for customers
  • Working closely with a large customer base, ensuring orders are completed accurately
  • Increasing the turnover and profit of the branch through the development of both existing and new customer accounts
  • Assisting on the trade counter and incoming telephone calls
  • Assisting with the smooth running of the branch in the absence of the Manager or delivery driver
  • Assisting with managing stock levels and ordering stock from manufacturers

Ideal person:

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role (Wholesale or trade merchant)
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Good IT skills and quick to learn new systems

  • Attractive base salary (Negotiable based on experience)
