We are looking for an experienced External Salesperson to join our Liverpool branch. This position would suit candidates with experience in the electrical wholesale industry who are confident building customer relationships, developing accounts and generating new business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing an existing customer base, while also identifying new sales opportunities across the local area. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to work closely with both customers and the branch team.
This position is ideally suited to candidates with experience within electrical wholesale, trade merchant sales or a similar B2B sales environment. Individuals looking to progress from an internal sales or trade counter role into external sales will also be considered. The role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within an established and respected independent wholesaler operating from 61 branches throughout the country.
Duties- Develop and grow both existing and new customer accounts.
- Visit customers regularly to build strong working relationships.
- Identify sales opportunities and follow up on leads and enquiries.
- Prepare quotations and work with the branch team to process orders accurately.
- Increase branch turnover and profitability through proactive account management.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to support customer requirements.
- Work closely with the trade counter and internal sales team to ensure excellent customer service.
- Support stock planning by feeding back customer demand and product opportunities.
- Promote the company’s products, services and branch capabilities to local customers.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar sales role, ideally within electrical wholesale, a trade merchant or B2B sales environment.
- Electrical wholesale industry experience preferred.
- Confident, professional and customer-focused.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop customer accounts and generate new business.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to sales.
- Team player who can work closely with branch staff.
- Full UK driving licence required.
