Eyre & Elliston is looking to recruit a Branch Supervisor for our Ashford branch. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused and customer-driven individual to take on a key role within a busy electrical wholesale branch. The successful candidate will support the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running of the branch, including customer account management, sales, stock control, supplier communication and general branch administration. The role would suit someone with experience in electrical wholesale, trade counter sales, branch operations or a similar trade supply environment, who is confident working with customers and supporting a team in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the branch
- Oversee branch operations in the Branch Manager’s absence
- Process quotations, sales orders and customer enquiries accurately and efficiently
- Work closely with new and existing customers to develop strong working relationships
- Help grow branch sales and profitability through account development and proactive sales activity
- Contact regular spending accounts, follow up dormant accounts and identify new business opportunities
- Assist customers on the trade counter and over the telephone
- Support the branch in achieving sales targets and service standards
- Help manage stock levels, stock ordering and general stock control
- Liaise with suppliers where required to support customer requirements
- Assist with general branch administration and daily operational tasks
Experience and Skills
- Experience within electrical wholesale, trade supply, merchanting or a similar branch-based sales environment
- Good commercial awareness and a proactive approach to sales
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident telephone manner
- Good attention to detail when processing orders, quotations and stock information
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Organised, reliable and able to work effectively in a busy branch environment
- Product knowledge within the electrical wholesale industry would be advantageous
