We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and experienced Nursery Assistant to join our thriving, part-time team. Your Role as Nursery Assistant
As the Nursery Assistant, you’ll take ownership of your room’s daily operations—leading a team of practitioners to deliver a warm, enriching, and structured environment where children flourish. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading your room with confidence, care, and creativity
- Creating and maintaining a safe, engaging space that supports children’s learning through play
- Overseeing daily routines—meals, hygiene, naps—ensuring consistency and care
- Planning and delivering age-appropriate, EYFS-aligned activities that support children’s development
- Monitoring and tracking progress, identifying areas for support and celebration
- Communicating effectively with parents/carers to keep them informed and involved
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, ensuring team cohesion and professional growth
- Keeping detailed, accurate records of attendance, incidents, observations, and development
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an energetic, motivated individual with a passion for early childhood education and proven leadership skills. Essential Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualification (Level 3 preferred)
- Fluent spoken and written English
- In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and best practices in early years care
- Experience working in a nursery setting, ideally in a senior capacity
- A clear Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- A nurturing, reliable, and enthusiastic personality with a natural flair for leadership
