We are a newly launched, well-capitalised B2C crypto casino venture, built by seasoned iGaming professionals and backed by leading investors. Operating under a Curaçao licence, our mission is to redefine entertainment at the intersection of crypto, gaming, and decentralised finance. Head of Legal & Compliance
Role Overview:
The Head of Legal & Compliance will lead the legal and compliance function, ensuring all business activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This senior leader will provide strategic legal advice, oversee compliance programmes, and manage risk to safeguard the company’s reputation and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective legal and compliance frameworks across all business units.
- Advise senior management and the Board on regulatory changes, legal risks, and compliance matters.
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements, ensuring timely updates to company policies and procedures.
- Lead investigations into compliance breaches, regulatory queries, and government enquiries, providing clear recommendations and solutions.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, commercial agreements, and other legal documents.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Design and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes for staff at all levels.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of integrity, ethical conduct, and regulatory awareness throughout the organisation.
- Ensure all business activities, transactions, and communications adhere to internal policies and external legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor or (UK or EU equivalent), with significant post-qualification experience in legal and compliance roles.
- Proven track record in the iGaming is essential.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including licensing, AML, GDPR, and industry-specific requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex legal matters, regulatory investigations, and compliance programmes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work strategically and operationally, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory obligations.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous professional development.
