We’re seeking a full-time or part-time Dispensing Optician or experienced Optical Dispenser to join our dynamic, friendly, and expanding independent practices in South Manchester. We’re a departure from a traditional optical practice; our premises are contemporary and fresh. We’re passionate about eyewear, and you should be too. We love work to be fun and like spending time with our patients in a relaxed and friendly environment. We also support the local community socially, giving us the opportunity to visit local restaurants and businesses occasionally after a busy day at work!

We collaborate with luxury European and Global brands and personally select all of our eyewear. Your input will be highly valued, and you’ll have close working relationships with the owners in a supportive setting. We sometimes travel to faraway lands to discover new eyewear, and you could join us.

We dispense premium Essilor lenses in an unhurried manner. Our eye examinations, including OCT scans, last around 45 minutes. We’re looking for someone confident in dispensing high-end eyewear. You should be able to provide honest advice and exceptional service to our patients, making them feel valued and appreciated. We build lasting relationships with our patients and their pets!

Please note that optical industry experience is essential so that you can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in selecting exciting eyewear and premium lenses based on their needs and preferences.
  • Conduct measurements for frames and lenses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
  • Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and care instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Stay updated on optical technology and trends to offer informed recommendations.
  • Collaborate with owners, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Dispensing Optician registered with ABDO or Optical Dispenser with over 3 years experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret prescriptions and provide appropriate eyewear solutions.
  • Familiarity with optical equipment and tools used in optical dispensing.
