As a Dispensing Optician, you'll be at the heart of what we do - the friendly, knowledgeable face our patients see from the moment they walk in. This is a hands‑on, people‑first role, working closely with the team to ensure every patient leaves feeling looked after, informed, and happy with their experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients in person and on the phone, delivering a warm, professional experience from start to finish.
- Assisting patients with frame selection, dispensing, styling and fitting, and general optical queries.
- Supporting the smooth running of the dispensing process, including taking measurements and processing orders.
- Managing patient bookings and keeping the appointment schedule running efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to practice standards and procedures.
- Supporting stock management, displays, and merchandising to keep the practice looking its best.
- Working alongside the store manager and wider team to contribute to a positive, high‑performing environment.
About You
- Experience in optical retail is essential (an FBDO qualification or equivalent is desirable).
- You’re a people person who genuinely enjoys delivering great customer service.
- Confident, calm and professional, even on the busiest of days.
- Organised and attentive to detail, with a good understanding of the dispensing process.
- A positive, can‑do attitude and a genuine passion for eyewear and the community you serve.
- Any experience with practice management software is a bonus, but not essential.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000, depending on experience.
