We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Salaried GP for 2 days per week to join our friendly, forward-thinking practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who values continuity of care, teamwork, and a supportive clinical environment. Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide high-quality primary care services to the practice population, working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. The role includes a mix of clinical consultations, administrative duties, and contribution to the ongoing development of the practice. The successful candidate will deliver patient-centred care in line with current evidence-based guidance and the values of the NHS.

Clinical Duties

  • Provide consultations via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions
  • Provide appropriate follow-up and safety netting advice
  • Request and interpret investigations, referring patients appropriately
  • Provide proactive and preventive care, including health promotion and screening
  • Participate in safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults

Administrative Duties

  • Manage clinical correspondence, results, and repeat prescriptions
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical records
  • Contribute to QOF, IIF, and other quality improvement initiatives
  • Support the practice in meeting contractual and regulatory requirements

Teamwork and Professional Development

  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, and wider MDT
  • Attend clinical and practice meetings
  • Participate in audit, significant event analysis, and clinical governance
  • Engage in CPD and maintain professional revalidation requirements

Qualifications

  • Essential
  • Fully qualified GP with MRCGP (or equivalent)
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on (or eligibility for) the NHS England Medical Performers List
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and compliance with revalidation
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Desirable
    • Additional clinical qualifications or special interests (e.g., women’s health, dermatology, minor surgery)
    • Teaching or training qualifications (e.g., GP Trainer accreditation, PG Cert in Medical Education)
    • Qualifications or experience in leadership, quality improvement, or research

    Experience

    • Essential
    • Experience working in general practice or primary care (including GP training placements)
    • Ability to manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions independently
    • Experience using clinical systems and digital consultation tools
    • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
    • Demonstrated ability to manage clinical and administrative workload effectively
    • Experience in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Desirable
    • Previous experience as a Salaried GP or GP Partner
    • Experience in a dispensing practice
    • Experience contributing to QOF, IIF, audits, or quality improvement projects
    • Experience supervising trainees, students, or other clinicians
    • Experience developing or delivering specialist clinics

Our team includes 2 GP Partners, a Practice Manager and Deputy Manager, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants, a dedicated group of Medical Secretaries and Receptionists, and an experienced Pharmacist team. As a dispensing practice, we also operate a busy and efficient dispensary service that supports our rural and semi-rural population.
