Our clinic is open Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm. Your shifts will fall within these hours. You may need to work a little earlier and/or later as needed.

SUMMARY

The Patient Care Attendant is responsible for day to day pod operations for their assigned doctor. This person must interact well with the patients, doctors, techs, staff and other offices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • Practice urgency at all times with patient’s time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule
  • Answer and properly screen phone calls
  • Retrieve voicemails and write down messages on call log for the techs. Messages must contain the necessary information and be communicated clearly
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA
  • Assist patients to and from exam rooms or to other areas in the clinic
  • Recording medical history, current medications and confirming purpose of visit
  • Records all data in the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure area runs smoothly
  • Sterile processing of instruments
  • Obtain culture and biopsy results for the doctor
  • Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
  • General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desire to gain industry knowledge and training
  • Computer savvy and have basic understanding of EMR
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals
  • Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change
  • Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • Ability to work overtime when the business is in need

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS

Minimum Required: None

SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
