- Conduct complex final reviews to ensure accuracy, manage risk, and uphold quality.
- Sign off completed tax returns as agreed with senior staff.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of related tax areas (e.g., estate/gift tax, IHT, corporate tax) and identify when to engage internal specialists.
- Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to junior team members.
- Support the technical, personal, and professional development of allocated staff, managing performance issues with HR guidance when needed.
- Ensure all compliance work meets EY’s high standards, minimising risk and maintaining excellent client service.
- Act as a role model for EY’s values, maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Work collaboratively across teams, providing support to colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice.
Qualifications
- ATT qualified and authorised to practice US tax (EA or CPA).
- CTA qualification desirable but not essential.
About You
- Significant tax experience at a similar level within a professional practice.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality client service, both in person and via phone/email.
- Strong technical experience across a full range of client tax requirements, including signing off US/UK tax returns.
- Proven experience advising non-domiciled individuals and high-net-worth clients.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage complex workstreams and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
- Experienced in billing and managing financial performance.
- Skilled at leading, developing, and managing junior team members.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities with sound IT skills.
- Confident in managing client relationships, including the ability to influence and respectfully challenge when needed.
- A proactive team player who also works effectively independently.
- Supportive, collaborative, and committed to maintaining a positive team culture.
