Key Responsibilities
The Senior Tax Advisor will
- Work closely with clients to solve real business challenges.
- Deliver top-tier employment tax projects with technical excellence.
- Balance compliance work with strategic advisory projects.
- Help drive business growth by managing client relationships.
- Ensure we meet the highest quality and risk management standards.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Experience of employment tax gained in consultancy, legal firm and/or large global corporate.
- Have strong personal impact and resilience, and be able to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders at all levels to gain support for major changes and key decisions.
- Working and technical understanding of key employment tax issues including:
- Expenses and Benefits (PSAs and P11Ds)
- Employment Status (IR35 and self‑employed)
- Payroll (PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, audits)
- Construction Industry Scheme
- Termination Payments
- Pensions
- National Minimum Wage
- Dealing with HMRC, audits, disclosure
- SAO and CCO
- A proactive, energetic, and forward‑thinking mindset.
- Strong teamwork and relationship‑building skills.
- Technical expertise with a drive to keep learning.
- Solid project management skills - meeting deadlines is your thing.
- Relevant qualifications (ATT, ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, Law, or equivalent).
- Risk‑awareness and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and a client‑first approach.
- A knack for problem‑solving and clear communication.
- Ideally have the ATT and/or CTA qualification.
