The opportunity EY is experiencing a significant increase in demand for the provision of tax services to private equity backed companies. This demand is being driven by a combination of a highly successful M&A tax team that works with a number of PE houses and generates a significant number of post-transaction opportunities, and a growing need from clients to engage with a tax adviser which can provide high quality, commercial and pragmatic tax advice across all areas and geographies.
The PE portfolio tax team at EY sits within the same group as the M&A tax and funds tax teams, enabling the provision of a comprehensive and joined-up tax service offering to the PE fund and its portfolio companies. The EY portfolio companies tax team is passionate about advising clients in this space, relishing not only the opportunity to advise on the myriad of tax opportunities and risks that typically apply to such businesses throughout the investment lifecycle, but also forging close relationships with management teams and supporting them on their journey to an eventual exit.
Key responsibilities
- Building and maintaining tax relationships with CFOs, financial controllers and heads of tax at private equity backed clients.
- Ensuring we provide the highest levels of service to our clients through the timely production of high quality tax deliverables.
- Considering the use of AI and incorporating into the provision of our tax services.
- Being an active part of the portfolio companies tax team, contributing to the strategy and management of the team.
- Building networks and personal relationships both internally and externally.
- Developing junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
- Assisting partners and directors with the origination of tax opportunities on new and existing clients.
