Data Analytics - Senior Manager (Associate Director) - Business Modelling & Valuations, SaT (UK&I) Competitive business today is all about making intelligent, informed decisions. As a Data Analytics Senior Manager, you’ll help make that happen. You will be an important part of our diversely talented, highly experienced team and work at the forefront of high-profile transactions. Our team of around 200 people sits at the heart of a global Business Modelling & Valuation network of over 1,550 specialists who deliver high quality advice through each phase of the transaction process.
The Opportunity Do you have an analytical mind-set? Within Business Modelling we have a rapidly growing Analytics offering and are now looking to establish a Data Analytics team in Belfast, to work alongside and strengthen the established London based team. We are in the process of recruiting a team of junior analysts and are looking for a Senior Manager to provide oversight, technical guidance, and mentorship. We work with major corporate and private equity clients, investment banks, large central government departments and other public sector bodies, advising them on complex strategic, commercial, financial and operational decisions and you’ll be an integral part of the team delivering on multiple projects.
Your key responsibilities As a Senior Manager within Data Analytics, you will spend your day to day constructing purpose-built databases as well as applying data wrangling tools and a wide range of programming languages to drive exceptional outcomes for our clients. You will manage multiple stakeholders, coach junior members of the team, and play a central role in the execution of complex projects. Alongside project work, you will also serve as the Belfast team lead, supported by experienced Senior Managers and Directors, to provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of approximately 10 junior analysts. Your role will be crucial to ensuring their technical and professional development, whilst maintaining the high standard of service our clients expect.

- Technical Expertise: Constructing purpose-built databases storing large client datasets for our analytical models, using data wrangling tools, visualisation tools, SQL stored procedures, programming and statistical tools, to derive insight through forecasting calculations and simulations, in a fast-moving transaction environment.
- Coaching: Proven experience managing colleagues, co-ordinating in-person team activities, and helping others navigate and shape their careers.
- Project Management: Actively involved throughout the lifecycle of an assignment - requirements definition, specification, data collection, solution design, development, documentation, implementation and user training.
- Database management: Designing and building complex database models to perform analysis on large diverse datasets.
- Client service: Manages clients’ expectations in relation to deliverables.
- Risk averse: Identifies risk on the assignment, involving senior team members appropriately in its resolution.
To qualify for the role, you must have a qualification in Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or highly numerate science. Strong experience in SQL Server and MS Excel. Experience using visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlikview. Highly numerate with a strong technical knowledge and experience of applying analytical and modelling techniques to provide insights to business issues. Ability to work with clients and model users to identify their particular use case requirements, to design appropriate solutions to load data, perform complex calculations, derive insights and deliver interfaces tools to provide repeatable visual output.
Ideally you will also have experience in applying analytical techniques, to calculate problems such as predictive forecasting, prescriptive action, capacity planning. Good understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and strong visual creativity. Programming experience in VB, VBA, SQL stored procedures. Experience with cloud-based data warehouse environments. Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, Java, C# or C++.
