An exciting opportunity to work in EY’s Global Grants Credits & Incentives team based in our central London office, alongside other tax and accounting and STEM colleagues. As a Senior Manager in the team you will be working with a variety of very high-profile clients from owner managed businesses to multinational groups, who are at the front line in developing cutting edge technology which is helping the world by encouraging investment into research and development. You will be required to work closely with clients’ finance, tax and engineering departments. You will work with clients from all different sectors and of all different sizes. Working within the EY team you will be leading the preparation of R&D claims and ensuring compliance with tax legislation. Within the broader team you will be exposed to cash grants and patent box applications. As well as working directly on existing projects, you will also be offered the chance to support business development opportunities. Your key responsibilities
- Effectively leading project teams, exhibiting strong communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other team members of different skill sets to deliver client-facing engagements.
- To lead on the efficient and successful delivery of R&D tax services across the globe.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service, taking a leading role in interaction with clients’ senior stakeholders.
- Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities, managing client team stakeholders, and liaising with other client-facing teams.
- Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing our existing clients base and contributing to winning new clients through business development activities.
- Lead the management and successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business-driven approach is taken.
- Responsible for day-to-day client liaison.

To qualify for the role you must have
- Minimum 5 years as an R&D tax practitioner with experience leading and project managing the preparation of claims in multiple countries.
- Clear and demonstrable experience in coordinating the response to and closure of tax authority enquiries.
- Experience in leading teams and coordinating delivery of services both in the office and remotely.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work across borders and manage client and EY relationships in other countries.
