Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in business origination activities, including preparing pitches and presentations to attract clients.
  • Operating within a transaction environment with tight deadlines for some of EY’s most demanding clients.
  • Advising clients across sectors, supporting key decision-makers in developing and executing strategies for value creation.
  • Contributing to practice development initiatives, supporting our team’s reputation as a great place to work.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience across various engagement types, including pre-deal (e.g., operational due diligence, carve-out planning), post-deal (e.g., integration planning, tracking), and restructuring (e.g., rapid cost reduction).
  • Leading project teams comprising colleagues from transactions and advisory practices, and facilitating meetings with senior client stakeholders to advise on strategy, integration, carve-out/separation, and operational restructuring.
  • Contributing to engagement management, including commercial aspects and risk management.
  • Supporting practice development initiatives, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Acting as a role model, supporting the development of junior team members, and participating in recruitment and training.
  • Experience working in large-scale consulting environments or industry roles, demonstrating the ability to analyse and synthesise insights into actionable recommendations quickly.
  • Flexibility to support broader IT & operational transaction work.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Expertise in at least three of the following areas: Professional services or consulting; Transaction experience such as due diligence, carve-out, or integrations; Deep understanding of core operational functions.
  • Strong analytical skills linking operational analysis to financial statements and understanding implications for client strategy.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience building relationships with senior clients, influencing and advising key decision-makers.
  • Experience supporting sales and business development in a large consulting environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering successful projects, managing teams and vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality reports, presentations, and thought leadership.
