The Opportunity

Are you ready to make a real impact in financial services? We have an excellent opportunity to join our Newcastle team as a Project Management Office Associate. In this role, you will apply your organisational skills, attention to detail and developing PMO knowledge to support the delivery of complex transformation and change programmes for our clients. You will help project teams run effectively by supporting governance, planning, reporting, stakeholder coordination and delivery tracking. You’ll be part of our Consulting Service Delivery team in Newcastle, which specialises in the operational delivery of engagements that help clients address important business challenges. While your core role will focus on PMO and project delivery support, you’ll also have the opportunity to support clients across different CSD competency areas, including Conduct Risk, Financial Crime and Cybersecurity. This will help you build a broader consulting delivery skillset and develop the future‑focussed skills needed to succeed in a digitally‑enabled future.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work effectively as part of operational delivery teams, supporting PMO, transformation and broader Consulting engagements.
• Support the mobilisation, coordination and management of project teams, helping delivery activities run smoothly and in line with EY standards.
• Support project governance activities, including preparing meeting materials, tracking actions, maintaining project documentation and helping teams follow agreed processes.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports, project updates, management information and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Support planning, delivery tracking, risk and issue management, and stakeholder coordination across project workstreams.
• Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across EY, contributing to a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation, ensuring information is well‑organised, up to date and handled appropriately.
• Develop experience across a broad range of CSD solution areas, supporting engagements beyond your core PMO specialism and building a flexible consulting delivery skillset.
• Continuously develop and apply digital, automation and AI capabilities, embracing new technologies and digitally‑enabled ways of working to improve delivery effectiveness, quality and client value.
• Contribute to team learning, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement activities across the wider CSD team.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Good understanding of PMO disciplines, including governance, reporting, planning, stakeholder coordination, risk and issue management.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate project governance, reporting and documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with project information, data and management reporting.
• Good interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm to develop digital skills and embrace emerging technologies, automation, AI and data‑driven ways of working.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Relevant PMO experience in a professional environment. This may include supporting project governance, reporting, planning, risk and issue management, stakeholder coordination or programme delivery activities.
• Experience supporting project teams to deliver work in line with agreed processes, deadlines and quality expectations.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience in Financial Services.
• Experience using digital, reporting, workflow or automation tools to support project delivery, governance or operational effectiveness.
