The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Organisational Design Manager to join our Financial Services, UK Workforce Transformation team and support delivery across our solution offerings of Future Workforce, Future Organisation Design and Future Performance.
Overview of the role
As an Organisational Design Manager in our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of transformative organisational design projects for our clients. You’ll work within a team to deliver innovative and insightful solutions, showcasing best-practice insights to support successful client delivery. As a Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day delivery support across project teams, contributing to effective go-to-market strategies and supporting development of our overall organisation design capability and solution offering by providing counselling and upskilling opportunities to our more junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day project delivery across transformation projects by bringing solid organisation design and project management capability.
- Take ownership for organisation design development, bringing experience and insights from previous delivery programmes.
- Work with leadership to refine and select recommended organisational models to present to clients.
- Support leadership in go-to-market activities by proactively contributing to proposal development, pitch preparation and completing critical engagement management activities.
- Contribute to generating revenue by identifying and communicating additional engagement opportunities across existing client engagements.
- Support in communicating and embedding workforce transformation strategies and working with leadership to identify further opportunities areas to drive client and solution growth.
- Have a good understanding of EY solution offerings across the firm and build a personal network to bring the best of EY to our clients.
- Be comfortable in positioning the value that People Consulting can deliver alongside our other service line offerings.
Skills and Attributes for success
Key capabilities you should be prepared to bring to client facing and internal initiative teams include:
- A solid understanding of using Organisational Design, Target Operating Model and change management as integral components of transformational initiatives with a focus on accelerating business performance.
- Foundational understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with acquisitions, divestures, mergers, and the organisational design implications is preferred.
- Competent in completing data analysis and current state assessment, leveraging organisational effectiveness measures to assess maturity of organisational and operating model designs.
- Experience leveraging tools to expedite data collection, analysis and design is preferred.
- Technical competence in our wider Workforce Transformation solutions including strategic workforce planning and performance/succession management is preferred.
- Can demonstrate capability in taking a practical/business driven approach to solving complex client challenges.
- Stakeholder Management experience including working with and presenting to senior leadership positions (such as Heads of Departments) and good communication skills.
- Good project management experience including development of project plans, completing risk assessments, readiness checklists, status updates and reporting.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching more junior team members.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Relevant professional service experience, with a global management consultancy firm, or an internal position in which you were responsible for delivering organisation design projects.
- Prior experience in Operating Model Development, Organisational Structure and Design, Strategic Workforce Planning, Capability Mapping, Organisational Assessment, and Organisational Governance with success in current job applying one or more of these capabilities.
- Experience of managing and delivering organisation design in one or more of the following sector domains; Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, Wealth, and Asset Management, FinTechs, Private Equity.
- Experience working within both small and large multi-disciplinary teams to deliver functional and enterprise-wide transformation engagements.
- Ability to travel (primarily within UK, if client requires).
