Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in business origination activities, including pitches and presentations to potential clients to help sell work.
  • Operate in a transaction environment under tight timeframes for high‑profile EY clients.
  • Advise clients across all sectors, supporting decision makers in developing and executing value‑creation strategies.
  • Contribute to practice development initiatives and support the team as a great place to work.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Develop experience across a range of engagement types, including pre‑deal (e.g., operational due diligence, carve‑out planning) and post‑deal (e.g., integration planning, tracking).
  • Lead blended project teams comprising colleagues from transactions and advisory practices.
  • Advise and work directly with client teams to carry out projects, and lead meetings with senior client stakeholders to shape strategy and planning.
  • Manage each engagement, including commercials and risk.
  • Act as a role model and support development of junior team members, including recruitment and training responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform and summarise analysis into management insights and recommended actions at pace in a large‑scale consulting environment.
  • Provide flexibility to support broader IT & operational transaction work.

Qualifications – Must Have

  • Specialism in at least one of: professional services / consulting; transactions (due diligence, carve‑out or integrations); or deep understanding of core operational functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, linking operational analysis to financial statements and understanding implications for client strategy.

Qualifications – Ideal

  • Experience building strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence and support of key decision makers.
  • Experience supporting sales and business‑development processes for professional services projects in a large‑scale consulting environment.
  • Track record of successful project delivery in corporate businesses, managing project team members and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a history of producing high‑calibre reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership.
