The Opportunity
We are seeking a Regulatory Senior Manager. This role is based within EY UK’s Insurance Risk & Regulation Team. The team’s objective is to be market-leading in supporting delivery of the CRO and CCO agenda.
The Insurance Risk & Regulation Team aims to offer both breadth and depth across compliance and risk management initiatives, ranging from providing advice on specific elements of conduct and risk management frameworks through to delivering full risk and compliance transformation programmes for clients in collaboration with multiple EY teams.
Typical Engagements:
- Supporting insurers to navigate regulatory change
- Working alongside insurers’ compliance functions as they respond to regulatory intervention, including firm-specific feedback and market-wide thematic reviews
- Supporting new regulatory applications, such as new syndicates, new MGAs, changes in control, and new or amended SMF applications
- Supporting or executing reviews of compliance frameworks
- Reviewing and enhancing firms’ governance arrangements
- Facilitating improved first-line understanding and ownership of regulatory risks and associated controls
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Amplify EY’s brand in the market through the delivery of high-quality work to London Market firms
- Provide practical advice to clients on the implications of PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s regulation for London Market firms
- Lead the delivery of engagements through the clear articulation of EY findings, conclusions and recommendations
- Take responsibility for engagement planning and day-to-day management, including oversight of other team members
- Develop client relationships and identify additional opportunities for EY to provide advisory services
- Support, mentor and develop less experienced colleagues in line with EY’s performance management framework
- Work collaboratively across teams, drawing on senior colleagues where needed
Skills and attributes for success:
- Significant experience working within an insurer’s regulatory risk or compliance team or significant experience delivering these services for another consulting firm
- Significant practical experience in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks
- Experience of managing and developing people
- Strong academic background
- Exceptional communication, presentation and business writing skills, including the ability to liaise with both technical and business contacts at client organisations
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and manage large cross-functional projects
