The opportunity

Market‑leading growth in our Financial Services Indirect Tax (VAT) team has created an opportunity for a strong VAT tax professional to join the team. You can own projects and work with the management team to identify business opportunities. You will have the support of a strong team with proven expertise in this area and the opportunity to progress, learn and accelerate your career. You will work with clients in the Financial Services industry as part of a globally integrated network of specialists with high quality economics, tax authority, legal, commercial and technology backgrounds. The work is technically challenging, creative and requires close collaboration with clients’ businesses.

Your key responsibilities

  • Enthusiastic manager with ability to create and sustain effective teams
  • Act as a central point of contact – liaise with international clients and colleagues with respect to UK and European VAT compliance
  • Monitor the quality of indirect tax data and reports of clients
  • Ensure delivery of quality work and take day‑to‑day management of delivery team
  • Review and approve indirect tax returns
  • Follow up on legislative and business changes to ensure processes are updated
  • Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the compliance processes
  • Through insightful analysis of returns and data, identify areas of opportunity and risk to generate additional VAT advisory opportunities for the VAT business
  • Coordinate VAT compliance and technology support
  • Help people develop through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training international tax professionals
  • Significant involvement in management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and through managing junior staff development and assignment
