The Alliances Team plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying, shaping, and closing joint sales opportunities (primarily “Sell with” motions) between EY, our ecosystem partners, and our clients. Within the team, the Alliance Business Development Assistant Director is instrumental in supporting the growth of alliance partnerships by executing market facing events and leveraging relationships with marketing contacts at Ecosystem partner organisations. This role focuses on acquiring market development funding and enhancing EY’s market position through effective collaboration and event planning. The role requires a highly proactive, client, solution focused and commercially driven individual who thrives in making things happen by connecting EY teams in the UKI and internationally with our clients and ecosystem partners. We expect the individuals to be motivated by fast moving technologies, building relationships, driving innovation and collaboration across complex stakeholder groups. The goal of this role is to accelerate the growth of EY’s revenues from the Alliances, primarily focusing on our major partnerships.

Expectations of the Role

  • Market Activity Plan Development: Collaborate with the Alliance Business Development Director and Alliance Sales Executives to develop and execute a single co-ordinated plan that elevates EY’s market position with alliance partners and clients.
  • Funding Acquisition: Build and utilise relationships with marketing counterparts at Ecosystem partners to secure market development funding for joint initiatives.
  • Messaging: Develop compelling messaging for alliance events, ensuring alignment with EY’s global positioning as well as UK objectives.
  • Event Planning: Plan and execute event motions in collaboration with Alliance partners and the EY BMC (Brand Marketing and Communications) team to promote alliance offerings and engage stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Manage and grow relationships with marketing counterparts at Ecosystem partners to foster collaboration and drive joint market facing activity.

  • Consistent Approach: Implement best practices in go to market strategies across all alliance partnerships, ensuring that lessons learned are shared and applied to future initiatives.
  • Communication Coordination: Oversee the frequency and content of communications related to the Alliances to ensure clarity and maximum impact on stakeholders.
  • Market Effectiveness: Monitor the effectiveness of market facing initiatives within the Alliances, making necessary adjustments to strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.
  • Strategic Focus: Maintain a strategic focus on enhancing EY’s revenues from the Alliances, particularly through targeted market facing efforts with major partners.

Key Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in business development roles, particularly within Alliances, with a focus on driving revenue growth and market positioning.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with sales teams, alliance partners, marketing teams, and internal stakeholders to develop and execute effective strategies.
  • Funding Acquisition Expertise: Strong background in securing funding from partner organisations and managing relationships with external counterparts.
  • Messaging Skills: Exceptional ability to develop compelling messaging that resonates with target audiences and align with overall business objectives.
  • Event Planning Experience: Proven experience in planning and executing successful events that engage stakeholders and promote partnership offerings.
  • Relationship Management: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders, including counterparts at ecosystem partners.
  • Proactive and Solution-Focused: Highly proactive, client-focused, and solution-oriented mindset, with a passion for driving innovation and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of EY or other multi-disciplinary professional services organisations.
  • Formal sales training (e.g., Miller Heiman, MEDDIC, Challenger) desirable.
