The opportunity
We have a vacancy for an additional employment lawyer within our high performing and ambitious in-house legal team. We respond to business transformation and innovation, enjoying a varied and challenging workload, and support the new EY All in Strategy by showing curiosity, intelligence, and energy to deliver prompt, pragmatic, adaptable and commercial legal advice to all levels within our business.
Your key responsibilities
- Proactively identifying, assessing, and balancing employment law risk, and offering practical, business-oriented, and creative solutions in partnership with key stakeholders on a broad range of partner and employment issues.
- Advising on complex grievance, disciplinary and dismissal processes, including negotiated settlements.
- Providing strategic litigation support to our Talent function on Employment Tribunal claims.
- Supporting commercial legal colleagues in negotiating employment related aspects of client contracts, master service agreements and tenders, with a particular focus on TUPE, including transfer of teams into EY.
- Advising on employment aspects of corporate acquisitions and internal projects.
- Conducting sensitive and empathetic investigations in relation to business and conduct issues, including whistleblowing reports and external complaints.
- Reviewing and recommending changes to policies, procedures, and standard documentation to reflect changes in the law as well as our commitment to building a better working world.
- Advising on post-termination restrictions.
- Providing training to internal stakeholders on employment related risks and processes.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Approximately 6 or more years of post-qualification employment law experience.
- Gained either in a reputable City law firm (or equivalent) and/or in-house.
