The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Director to join our Private Client team , managing a diverse portfolio of clients with complex US and/or UK tax affairs .
You’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding client service across compliance and advisory matters, developing junior team members, and supporting business growth through effective portfolio management.
The Team Our US/UK Cross Border team advises international high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private equity and hedge fund principals, and high-profile professional partnerships.
We provide a full range of tax services – from compliance and residence/domicile advice to transactions, wealth optimisation, and succession planning.
Key Responsibilities Drive business development opportunities through your network and collaboration with colleagues across EY’s service lines.
Manage the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-focused approach.
Provide development support to junior team members through effective supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
Contribute to people initiatives, including team retention, development, and training.
Play a significant role in the management of the team – both strategically and operationally – while overseeing junior staff development and assignments.
Skills and Attributes for Success Significant experience at a similar level within a professional practice.
Strong technical knowledge across a full range of client tax requirements, including signing off US/UK tax returns.
Proven experience advising non-domiciled individuals and high-net-worth clients.
Strategic and commercially aware, with excellent relationship management skills.
Confident negotiator who can articulate and sustain well-reasoned opinions.
Ability to influence and respectfully challenge when needed.
Skilled at leading, developing, and managing junior team members.
Supportive, collaborative, and committed to maintaining a positive team culture.
Proven ability to identify and convert opportunities into work.
Experienced in billing and managing financial performance.
