Opportunity: Architecture role within EY Client Technology’s Technology Strategy & Architecture (TS&A) function. Responsibilities include defining and delivering architectures, designs for business‑critical global products and platforms, hosted in a variety of infrastructure/environments, emphasizing reusability, scalability and reliability in alignment with EY’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships across the business to understand requirements, strategy and help build product/platform roadmaps; translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, high‑ and low‑level design.
  • Own the overall technology, architecture and design landscape of the product/platform from solutioning to delivery, adoption and sale phases.
  • Potentially lead a team of architects in a portfolio or large product, set overall technology and architecture direction and oversee end‑to‑end delivery; provide architecture governance and guidance.
  • Solve complex problems where solutions may not exist; ideate and incubate new solutions/ways of working/technologies; conduct feasibility, build‑vs‑buy analysis, vendor evaluations, proof of concepts and present options to the business.
  • Work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams (engineering, platform, infosec) to deliver envisioned architectures and design via optimized delivery approaches, complying with enterprise standards, practices, policies and guidelines.
  • Provide leadership in product delivery to build and consume reusable functional and technical assets; identify, define and implement reusable assets and standards.
  • Support product and project managers in building plans, forecasts, estimations and cost models for new and existing products/platforms, balancing cost, risk and quality.
  • Coach, mentor and support development teams during delivery; ensure artifacts comply with envisioned architecture, quality standards, design practices; conduct code reviews and architecture reviews.
  • Contribute to architecture and development standards/guidelines to promote optimization and consistency.
  • Work across multiple projects with varied stakeholders; set architectural direction, build consensus, mediate conflicts, provide technical leadership and advisory services to the business.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills for leading global, distributed teams.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships across business, IT and vendors/industry analysts to maintain insight into enterprise and industry trends; evangelize technical quality, emerging technologies, sharing & experimentation across the org through mentoring, hackathons, communities, etc.
Skills & Attributes for Success
  • Led and governed a global team of solution and technical architects across a large, complex portfolio of products, achieving successful implementation and adoption.
  • Architecture leadership with advanced understanding and practical experience of the role across the entire lifecycle, proven in a large, global product platform ecosystem.
  • Hands‑on deep experience in at least one specialization (application, infrastructure/cloud, integration, data, security) and successful delivery of functional and non‑functional aspects using native cloud, full‑stack, data, security, AI technologies.
  • Expert skills in defining, designing and developing distributed and scalable products and platforms using reusable domain‑specific composable microservices on containers on multi‑platform/hybrid clouds (Microsoft Azure preferred).
  • Expert skills in multiple programming and scripting languages (JavaScript, .NET, Java, Python, C++, etc.), SQL/noSQL, Big Data, analytics and machine learning, authentication/authorization technologies; Microsoft and Azure based skills preferred.
  • Ability to adopt and relate new technologies while adhering to security and EY standards.
  • Understanding of business and organizational strategy; ability to communicate solutions to business partners effectively.
  • In‑depth knowledge of design patterns and architectural styles (traditional, microservices, containers, event‑driven, data streaming).
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, interpersonal and communication abilities.
Education & Experience (Ideal)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Economics.
  • 15+ years overall IT industry experience, including 5+ years in a solution or technical architect role using private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure, TOGAF, AWS Cloud, CISSIP, etc.).
  • Thought leadership experience presenting ideas and solutions to varied audiences, including industry forums.
  • Experience designing and implementing business use‑cases using low‑code/no‑code, Generative AI, data reporting, governance, mobile apps, deep cloud security concepts.

Compensation & Benefits (Canada)

Compensation & Benefits (United States)
  • Base salary ranges $138,200 to $266,000 (US); $165,800 to $302,300 for major metros. Total Rewards package includes medical, dental, pension/401(k), and paid time off options. Hybrid model: 40–60% in‑person expectation.
