We are seeking a Finance (Senior) Associate with prior relevant experience to provide support to the Channel Islands finance team in the delivery of day‑to‑day finance activities. The role focuses on transactional and administrative finance tasks, helping to ensure records are accurate, processes run smoothly and queries are dealt with efficiently. By supporting core finance processes, the role plays an important part in helping the Channel Islands business operate effectively and continue its strong growth journey. The role also offers the opportunity to gain exposure to technology‑enabled ways of working. The role reports into the Finance Senior Manager, who will provide day‑to‑day guidance, oversight and support. This is a hands‑on role for an individual who already has experience working in a structured, process‑driven environment.
This role offers flexibility and can be worked on a part‑time or full‑time basis, with approved working hours between 28‑35 hours per week (depending on business needs and candidate preference). The role is Guernsey, with flexible working arrangements in line with EY policies.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Supporting the processing of supplier invoices
- Assisting with payment processing in line with internal procedures and controls
- Maintaining accurate finance records and filing supporting documentation
- Assisting with reconciliations and routine accounting tasks, as required
- Helping prepare standard reports and finance information
- Assisting with the preparation and updating of PowerPoint slides for finance updates and internal briefings, using templates and guidance provided
- Responding to routine finance‑related queries from internal teams and external suppliers, escalating where appropriate
- Using EY finance systems and tools, with 'on the job' training provided
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
- Supporting process improvements and new ways of working, under supervision
- An interest in learning how technology can support and improve finance processes
- Willingness to use new systems, tools and templates introduced by the business
- Opportunity, with dedicated time and support, to assist with automation and AI‑enabled activities (utilising the MS applications - Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps), supported by training and guidance
- Demonstrable experience in a similar or relevant administrative role with the ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of accounting or bookkeeping principles
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- A reliable, methodical approach to work
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Familiarity with finance systems or databases
- Interest in developing experience and skills within finance
No formal finance qualification is required however relevant practical experience or a genuine interest in developing finance skills is beneficial.
