As a technologist in Digital Engineering, you will apply your skills in a highly strategic context, delivering innovative digital solutions that address key industry challenges. Engineers work in agile, cross‑functional teams across sustainable energy, government digitisation, high‑growth scaling, AI, and digital health.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate and own the design, development and delivery of full stack products from frontend to backend.
- Build and maintain responsive, high‑quality user interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
- Design and implement robust APIs and services, ensuring security, reliability and maintainability.
- Work closely with product teams to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Present delivered features and technical solutions confidently to stakeholders and clients.
- Perform thorough peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining high engineering standards.
- Support and lead non‑functional improvements, including technical debt reduction, performance optimisation and creation of clear API documentation.
- Play a key role in defining the engineering strategy for Digital Engineering, advocating for consistent standards, practices and approaches across teams and client engagements.

Skills & Attributes for Success
- Strong professional full‑stack development experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Java, Python, .NET or similar technologies.
- Proven ability to design and build scalable APIs and distributed systems.
- Solid experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with testing frameworks, unit testing, integration testing and automated testing strategies.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, system design, maintainability and code quality.
- Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams and contributing to delivery planning and estimation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices would be beneficial.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases, microservices or event‑driven architectures would be desirable.
