Senior Manager - Microsoft - AI Business Transformation - TC
The opportunity This is a senior role for a hands-on transformation leader who helps financial services clients move from AI ambition to practical delivery.
The role leads design, pilot and build work across business process, operating model, colleague experience, data, technology, risk and change.
The Senior Manager will work with client sponsors such as product owners, CIO, CDO, CAIO and COO teams, risk and compliance functions and delivery teams to shape AI patterns and use cases, build practical roadmaps and deliver controlled solutions that create measurable value.
Microsoft platform literacy and Co-sell experience are important.
The role requires high-level architecture skills, but more importantly must be able to connect business needs to Microsoft technologies and bring this to life for a client.
Lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled transformation programmes for financial services clients, helping them move from strategy and use case shaping into implementation, adoption and measurable value.
The role will connect business needs, AI opportunities, Microsoft platform capabilities, risk controls and change delivery.
Build strong working relationships with Microsoft teams to support joint propositions, co-sell activity, co-build opportunities and follow-on pipeline growth.
- Your Key Responsibilities Design and discovery
- Lead discovery and design: interviews, workshops, process reviews, simple data analysis and opportunity assessment.
- Write clear problem statements, design principles, future-state journeys, process maps and role / operating-model impacts.
- Identify and prioritise AI use cases based on value, feasibility, risk, complexity and readiness.
- Build simple business cases that show expected impact across financial, customer, operational and risk outcomes.
- Create roadmaps, MVP scope, sequencing, delivery plans and adoption approaches.
- Work with AI, data and technology specialists to make sure ideas are technically doable and fit the client's architecture, data and control rules.
- Spot where Microsoft tools can speed up delivery - Microsoft 365 Copilot for the everyday AI interface, Copilot Studio for custom agents, Cowork and Autopilot for autonomous workflow, Power Platform for automation and apps, Azure AI for enterprise AI, and Microsoft Purview and Entra ID for governance and secure access.
- Build, pilot and scale
- Lead workstreams that move designs into build, pilot and scale.
- Design, build and test custom Copilot Studio agents, Cowork, Autopilots and Power Platform solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse).
- Coordinate business, technology, data, risk and change work so delivery stays on track.
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept and pilots, then scale what works.
- Make sure requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, controls, testing and adoption plans are clear.
- Manage risks, dependencies, issues, scope changes and stakeholder expectations.
- Keep the team focused on measurable business outcomes and track the benefits.
Working with Microsoft This is a key part of the role. You will
- Build strong day-to-day relationships with the Microsoft Account team, STU specialist sellers and GBB specialists.
- Bring Microsoft in early during design to check platform fit, find co-sell opportunities and agree where co-build support can reduce delivery risk.
- Align solutions to Microsoft's priority workloads and reference architectures.
- Use STU and GBB specialists during build to get expert platform input, validate technical choices and unblock issues.
- Contribute to joint account planning, co-sell stories, client briefings and solution showcases.
- Team and client leadership
- Be a trusted day-to-day delivery lead for client stakeholders.
- Prepare and present materials for steering groups, design authorities and decision forums.
- Lead small teams of consultants, analysts, designers and specialists.
- Coach junior colleagues and set a high standard for quality.
- Manage engagement budget, quality, scope, risks and timelines.
- Support proposals, pitches and follow-on work. Skills And Attributes For Success
- Experience in consulting, technology or transformation, ideally including financial services.
- Hands-on experience delivering with Microsoft AI and low-code tools - especially Copilot Studio, Cowork (bonus), Power Platform and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Experience building and delivering solutions end-to-end, from design through to a working product.
- Experience running client workshops and managing stakeholders.
- Good understanding of regulated financial services and the controls needed to deliver change there.
- Experience with agile or product-based delivery.
- Experience building MVPs, pilots or proofs of concept.
- Awareness of responsible AI, data governance, GDPR and AI governance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft security and governance for AI - Entra ID and Microsoft Purview (sensitivity labels, DLP, auditability), and awareness of Defender and Sentinel.
- To qualify for the role;
- Strong consulting experience, ideally in Big 4, financial services consultancy, technology consultancy or transformation advisory.
- Experience leading AI, automation, data or digital transformation work from design into delivery.
- Strong understanding of regulated financial services environments and the constraints of delivering change within them.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and managing delivery expectations in complex organisations.
- Experience working in agile, product-based or hybrid delivery environments.
- Experience developing business cases, roadmaps, MVPs, pilots, proofs of concept or scaled enterprise solutions.
- Practical knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, AI governance, model risk, and regulatory expectations.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across business, technology, data, risk, compliance and change.
- Experience working with Microsoft teams or partner ecosystem motions, including co-sell, co-build, joint propositions or technical validation.
- The following will be an advantage;
- Microsoft AI, Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, security or data certifications.
- Experience integrating AI into enterprise systems of record such as CRM, ERP, HR, finance, risk, policy, document management, workflow and service management platforms.
- Experience in banking, insurance, wealth management, asset management, capital markets, payments, risk, compliance, finance or operations transformation.
