Our UK Capital Markets technology and data capability helps investment banking clients deliver complex business and regulatory transformations enabled by technology.
The opportunity
EY has a market-leading Risk practice requiring a strong data and technology focus to deliver strategic, future-proof solutions with a focus on control and efficiency. This role offers support in articulating technology and data strategies, implementing transformations, harnessing data, identifying business-enabling technology tools, and streamlining technology estates.
You will work on business-critical engagements, including helping investment banks improve compliance with regulations such as Basel 3, FRTB, BCBS 239, and preparing for upcoming regulations on Liquidity, Interest Rate Risk, and deploying AI responsibly. Future prudential regulation will increasingly include Climate Risk, and EY is recognized as a leader in ESG and sustainability consulting. We also assist banks in becoming more profitable by developing new revenue streams or reducing costs.
While primarily serving the UK market, our clients are global, and we collaborate extensively with teams across EMEIA, the US, and APAC.
Our approach to transformation
- Deliver and oversee large-scale technology change, from inception to operational readiness, primarily using agile methodologies.
- Bring technology assets to clients, including proprietary EY tools and vendor solutions, to accelerate transformation.
- Deploy on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore teams, collaborating with major alliance partners like Microsoft, IBM, Snowflake, Moody’s, ServiceNow, and Pega, as well as FinTech firms.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, investing in Cloud, Digital, Automation, and AI talent, and deploying technology to solve real business problems.
- Integrate considerations of sustainability and climate risk into our solutions, advising clients on the role of data and technology in ESG initiatives.

We are seeking Risk Technology Senior Consultants to join our team due to high demand and growth. Engage your mind and develop experiences that last a lifetime.
Your key responsibilities
- Engagement delivery: roles include techno-functional analysis, solution and data architecture, solution design, and end-to-end implementation management.
- Solution development: research, prototype design, software engineering, and testing.
- Business development: building long-term trusted advisor relationships, supporting proposals, and contributing to thought leadership.
Skills requiredCommercial and interpersonal skills
- Managing multiple stakeholders, identifying opportunities, and leading proposals.
- Collaborating across teams, including offshore, and working under pressure.
- Building strong client relationships and understanding complex problems with critical thinking.

Investment banking knowledge
- Understanding of Risk Transformation, Financial and Non-Financial Risk processes.
- Knowledge of regulations like Basel 3, Basel IV, CRR II / CRD V, FRTB.

Technical skills
- Experience with large-scale program delivery methodologies (Agile, DevOps, Waterfall).
- Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Pivotal, Confluence, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, Scala.
- Knowledge of solution and data architecture, AI, data lineage, and integration architecture.
- Experience with testing automation, process automation platforms like Pega, and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Understanding of information security, privacy challenges, and emerging technologies.
Academic and experience requirements
- University degree, 2:1 or above, or equivalent; exceptional candidates with alternative backgrounds are considered.
